"Summer" Maja Design and Dusty Attic Design Team Creation November

Welcome and a very big hello !
Today I have something beachy for you. Here in Australia Summer is a very special time for our family. Lots of trips to the beach and just getting out and enjoying the beautiful sunshine and our gorgeous beaches.
The photo I have used today is of my youngest who just loooooooves the beach. And every chance she gets she will be found digging away in the sand, or mud digging holes or just building sandcastles. I adore this photo of her from back in 2012 at a holiday gettaway in Forster, New South Wales. Again she is digging away and very much caught up in the moment !

Since the togs she was wearing are a navy blue I decided to keep with these colours and add some neutral tones and keep it earthy. I have only used a little media being distress inks and gesso along with Rust Paste. I have listed below the papers from one of my favourite Maja collections that I have used to create this project...... Vintage Autumn Basics is just perfect for this particular project.

Above you can see some of the gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboards that I used. The large chippie framing the photo is a new release doily...... love me these !! and also the "Summer" title is perfect for a smaller title to add to the tops of flower clusters and I have here. I have a full list of all the Dusty products used for this project below. If you click on the link below it will take you straight to the site.

My starting point was tearing up my sheet of Vintage Autumn Basics and layering it using both sides along with some Dusty Attic corrugated board. These pieces were laid over the top of Vintage Autumn Basics and then primed with some clear gesso. I did some drying brushing with white gesso to give that whitewashed beachy look and also did some splatterings of white.

I have used some new Dusty Attic release beach chipboards, lots of 49andMarket Floral Mixology and Garden Seeds flowers along with some seashells to help with my embellishing of the page. The flowers used are listed below;

The chipboards were dressed in gesso and I randomly applied rust paste let it dry for a few moments and rubbed the rust paste until the colour bleed into the gesso.
Well that is all from me today, I do hope I have inspired you in some way big or small to create something this week for yourself! Enjoy the time you spend creating.

Big hugs Tina xo

"My Sunshine" 49andMarket / Dusty Attic Design Team Creation for December

Hello and welcome back!  I have for you my second share for this month and again I have decided to use the collection of Cottage Life. There really is something absolutely adorable about this collection that I am so drawn to. I have just realised that each layout I have created from this collection I have used the cute photos of my girls from when they were very young.

"My little ray of Sunshine"

I decided to keep this creation very simple, light and pretty.

Cottage Life's Garden Seeds was used for the background page. I did a little stamping using the Whimsical Door Stamp's of Gabrielle Pollacco's with a little Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I cut the door from Bicycle Alley along with some of the flower clusters and added them to my layout to help build the page. I also used some of the flowers from Garland for a little extra floral delight.

But to add to the dimension of this layout I have created with the 3D embellishments from Cottage Life. I only used the light green and pink embellishments from here. But they are just the perfect addition to add to any layout. I have even broken them up to go further around the page.

You can see here how well these 3D Embellishments are to layer with chipboards and flowers. They are a fantastic addition. Love them!!

I have also used some gorgeously yummy chipboards from Dusty Attic. I have used the Ironwork Banner which comes in two identical pieces. I used the first one whole and the second one was cut in to several pieces and adhered to make it look like a fence posting. Well I certainly hope it looks like this to you. With the remainder I used it to sit at the top of the page to hang the cute chipboard mini tab "My Sunshine". I have also used another chipboard title "Sparkle". You can never have too many titles am I right?

The chipboards were all dressed in White Crackle Texture Paste and Distress Inks. The title had a little Star Dust stickles dusted over the top to help it sparkle! I also added some Star Dust Stickles to the centres of my 3D embellishment butterfly bodies and some of the flowers.

And from another view....

Above you can see the first clustering of flowers. I have used the Seaside Blooms in Natural Blush and Aloe. I also added in some of the Garden Seeds varieties because you can just never have too many flowers I think. I am so very addicted to these new addition of flowers to the 49andMarket line up. They are just perfect. I have pulled a couple of these apart to make them go further around my layout. There are so many layers in some of the flowers that you would just never know that they were pulled apart!

Well that is all from me for today. Take care and happy scrapping. x

"Amazing Moments" 49andMarket / Dusty Attic DT creation for November

Hello and a very big welcome to you today!
Tina O with you here ! It seems like a lifetime ago that it was, that I was last here, typing madly away to get my next 49andMarket creation in on time. I have been unable to scrap for the past two months due to shoulder surgery which unfortunately had left my arm in a sling for 6 weeks. But....... I am so very happy to say that everything is going well, although I still do have to be very careful until I have full use and strength back in my shoulder. So every day since, my sling has come off, I have sat at my table for only short periods to sometimes only sit and stare at my beautiful 49andMarket goodies. But after 6 long intermittent days of crafting I finally came up with this creation.

I am so happy to be back guys, I can't tell you enough!! Thank you for waiting and being so patient with me Janene and Di !  You guys are just the best.
Ok enough about me and now back to the layout.

Even though I had the new collection of 49andMarket's Rusty Autumn in my hot hands, I decided to keep creating with Cottage Life as I had in my head a little something that I had wanted to do with some cute photos of my youngest that I have never scrapped.

This has been titled ...... "Amazing Moments"........

For this layout I have simply torn layers of Watering the Garden papers and laid them across the middle of  Rooster Row. Red on red, I really didn't think it would work but then I came across the pack of Dragon Revolutions 3D Embellishments. These come doubled up which is just perfect for taking apart and making them go further. To do this I layered the smaller circular embellishment over the larger and cut away the excess underneath to go around other sections of my page.

And how cute are these little spotted gum boots. These were cut from the cut out Cottage Life Sheet along with the barn which you can just see to the left behind the large photo.

And of course I have used the gorgeous gorgeous blooms from 49andMarket's Blossom Blends to help with clustering of my flowers. All the flowers were dry brushed and treated with a little Distress Crackle Paint to help them shine! I used the colours Poppy and Cotton to compliment with my page and photos.

As you can see above I have also added in some Art Stones in differing sizes. These were coloured up with the Rust Paste and some Star Dust Stickles to add a little sparkle.

You can see below that I have also added in some paper doilies and of course Dusty Attic chipboards. These chipboards were all dressed with Gessoes, Rust Paste, Crackle Texture Pastes and Distress Crackles to give that rustic look. I broke the picket fence in half and extended from behind the photo framing to help elongate the page.

I have also added in some torn pieces of 49andMarket's Burlap Trim. These pieces were tucked in and around sections of the beautiful flowers that I clustered together around the circular embellishment.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed visiting. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me here. I really do appreciate it. Until next time happy crafting and take care.
