"She Loves in Colour" Maja Designs / Dusty Attic DT project - April

Hello and welcome again everyone!
Today I am back to share a my combined Maja Designs and Dusty Attic Design Team project with you. My project today is far from my normal. But I was inspired by this months Dusty Attic moodboard and I love nothing more than a good challenge.
You can find the April Moodboard below............

Just gorgeous, don't you think? So with this fresh in my mind I set to work. I have never ever considered creating country rustic so this was a very first for me.

"Walking in the Forest" from Maja Designs was the most perfect fit for my project today.
All the rustic colours of the countryside!

You will see that choosing the papers for me was the hardest decision of all in the video that I made for this project today. If you keep scrolling through my blogpost you will find the link for my video tutorial.

My photo of choice for today's project was one taken late last year, of my eldest daughter with a friend that we would see on my girls' afternoon Violin tuition lessons. This friendly beauty lives in the paddock of the house that I would park at. And on most afternoons it would walk to my car just to check and see who it was! I was able to capture this gorgeous photo of both these beauties on one of our afternoon visits.

For this layout I have layered my Maja Design papers with lots of blooms, chipboards and elements cut from the Die Cut Sheet.
You can also see above that I have used a chipboard quote.
My title for this layout was taken from the quote.
 It reads:
"She see in black and white, thinks in greys but loves in colour....."

This is a new release piece that our clever Dusty Boss has come up with. I absolutely love this.....thanks Jennifer!!!

And the goegeously stunning blooms were all from the 49andMarket series of Rustic Blooms. These were co-ordinated with some of my favourite Dusty Attic chipboards that were coloured with differing mediums from Distress Inks to Rusting Powders and Crackle. If you follow the link below you will see how these were all dressed in the video. I have listed below the Dusty chipboards used in my project.

Dusty Attic Wagon Wheels DA0697

Dusty Attic Water Pumps DA0695
 and
Dusty Attic Corrugated Board
Dusty Attic Chipboard Quote "She loves in Colour"
 and

Dusty Attic Rusting Powder DA0995

You can see the gorgeous effects of the Dusty Rusting Powder. I did a couple of layers to give my chipboard that added extra texture. I also added in a little ink with some Distress Crackle to help the pieces pop a little from the remaining embellishments.

The chipboard title above was simply dressed with a little Liquid Pearls. Below are some of the 49andMarket blooms used for this project. Perfect aren't they?

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you enjoyed your visit here! As I mentioned I have made a video to go with my post here. Just click on the link below to take you to it! Enjoy!!

Until next time happy crafting and take care.

"Cherished" - 49andMarket - DT Creation

Hello and welcome dear friends.
I am here to share my first Design Team projects for 49andMarket and the Dusty Attic this month.

This photo of my two girls makes me smile from ear to ear. I remember taking this trying to still the camera from shaking so much at these two giggling. An off chance that we would come across a park was a nice change to our week. They enjoyed the park immensely as it had been a while since we had last visited. Even as they grow older I find it is the simple things that I think they have outgrown which they enjoy the most. So you could say this is another of those special memories photos. I wanted to keep with the playful nature of the photo, so I made it all light and pretty and a little messy but at the same time fun.

It is quite unlike me to spend so much time on my background work, but it was the case for this layout. I started with the A side of 49andMarket's Fly Away, primed it and went to work creating my background for my embellishments to lay upon. I used one of my favourite Dusty Attic stencils Distressed Diamonds with a mixture of black gesso and Dusty Attic Texture paste to add to my background.  I have even added in a border frame with Gabi's gorgeous, gorgeous Ethereal Stamp Set.  I have used lots of differing pieces of gorgeous Dusty Attic chippies from the Foliage which was dressed in silver liquid pearls to the Wrought Iron fence which was covered with China Black H2O's. I love to add H20's tpthis to raw chipboard and let it bubble under the heat of my heat gun. The more you add the better the outcome.

"Remember Today" 49andMarket DT creation - Looking Through

As I said yesterday, I would be back with a project using the very new "Looking Through" flower fairies collection. I really can't explain what has happened to me of late but purple has become my go to colour. These papers are the ultimate collection to recreate scenes with and even when your photo may not be of the best quality (like mine) they still work a treat. I have titled today's project "Remember Today".This photo is actually a very old favourite and I have used it a number of times but it truly is one of those photos that place me back in time.

To start my layout I simply did some tearing with the "Lilac" papers and layered these with some soft lace. The top piece "Lilac" was sliced down the wood paneling and lightly distressed.

The photo I changed up to black and white to fit in with my colour scheme and gently sanded the edges. I then layered it up on to a couple pieces of matting using the same papers. These matting pieces were distressed lightly. Then these were adhered to the right side of my layout.

I have done a little fussy cutting from Looking Through's The Cut Outs. But I also found a well in Scent's of Nature's collection which fit perfectly for this layout. Couldn't believe my luck. Even the colours were a perfect match. Thank you Janene.....you do a perfect job designing these wonderful collections!

Also for my project I included these new gorgeous Layered Embellishments. Absolutely fabulous for that added extra bit of layering in your work. I have fallen in love with these. I added some mediums to mine to create a more shabby texture for my layout. They really are so very versatile.

And of course no layout is complete without the addition of some gorgeously beautiful 49andMarket Blossoms and Bouquets. These at present are my most favourite of all flowers. My life I am sure would not be the same without them........  These were gessoed a little and I added some Star Dust Stickles to added that magical element to the layout. Actually I added quite a lot of Star Dust Stickles throughout the layout. Makes the pretty things prettier!!

And one last peek! ......Well that is all from me today. I would like to wish you and your families a most wonderful and safe Easter. Until next time take care.

"Heartfelt Love" - Maja Designs DT Creation

Hello my dear friends and welcome. I hope that this blog post finds you happy and well. Today I am here to share a very simple but elegant card using the ever so stylish Sofierio Collection. I am also giving away one of these paper packs to one lucky person. But firstly I would love to share my little project with you.

I kept this card very simple and as much as it didn't feel right .......it also did!!
Crazy I know but I had piles of flowers sitting around on my table and adding flowers just seemed to distract from the simple elegance of it all. I have listed below the gorgeous papers used for this project. They are:

Enjoying the fragrance bs

Royal Summer Residence

Strolling down the rose path

I have used the 6 x 6 paperpack perfect for cardmaking. Enjoying the fragrance was used in the background and I layered another strip of it along with Strolling down the path, and a little lace.

I used some Dusty Attic chipboards and a metal swallow embellishment to help to decorate my card. The elegant scroll was dressed with liquid pearls and the cameo ribbon was coated with a couple of coats of gesso and then a oval shape to sit in the centre of the cameo ribbon was cut and layered on top of it. I then dressed this with a little Star Dust Stickles to highlight this a little further.

I tucked in a little muslin and then topped this with some silver micro beads. The metal swallow  I think, completed this project. It was primed with gesso and whilst still wet I sprinkled over a little colour of Pale Pink Mica Powder. And finally to finish I topped the embellishment cluster with the word strip "Heartfelt Love".

I so hope that I have inspired you in some way today to create something for yourself this week whether it be big or small. And no matter it's size, do it for you, because you deserve it.

And before I go, one last thing........
