"You are....beautiful" Design Team creation for Fabscraps - Jungle Mist Collection

Welcome and a pinch and a punch for the first of the month!!!

Happy November!

Today I have another design team creation for Fabscraps using the Jungle Mist collection. This is my fourth layout from this collection and they are all so different from each other it just amazes me. For this layout I decided to go with the citrus colour combo and use a beautiful photo of my youngest daughter that I took a couple of months ago of her modelling my sun hat.

I have titled this "You are .....beautiful"

I firstly started off this layout using this gorgeous patterned paper from the collection called Tropical Flowers. I loooooooove this piece and have been waiting a very long time to use it. So I firstly lightened the damask in sections.

I then used the Fabscraps "Serenity" DS 033 Stencil and added a little texture paste through this to create a frame around my photo. I sprinkled a little Distress Powder over the texture paste and heat set it.

I changed up my charms by using a little gold embossing powder and I then highlighted areas with a little gesso.

I also got a little adventurous and created my own transparencies using a acrylic stamps and embossing powders. This is an fave technique that I always seem to come back to every now and then.

Here you can see that I have framed the photo using some cardstocks and the Fabscraps Tropical Pineapple patterned paper.

And for good measure I have added in some cheesecloth and sequins in Limade and Tangerine colours. I have included a full materials list below for you to make life a little easier.....just keep scrolling.

Well I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today and I hope the month of November brings you lots of crafty days and warmer weather!

Until next time ....happy scrapping.

"Adventure" - Fabscraps DT C78 Creation

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have my next Fabulicious Design Team creation for fabulous Fabscraps.
I have skipped on to another collection called the Jungle Mist collection. So once more I go on a finding frenzy for that certain photo to co-ordinate with my layout. The photo I have chosen is one from 2009 on a holiday to Carnarvon Gorge! I have to say that this was the best camping experience I have ever had. But this walk that we went on was an experience I don't think I ever want again. The sign at the entrance to the walk said 4km's this way. The kids were only relatively new to trekking and quite young. We had no water or food and it was about 9.30 in the morning. The next thing you know we are dripping with sweat in the beautiful north Queensland sunshine.....thirsty with not very happy and unco-operative children. When we finally reached the top of the walk to turn around we come across a Ranger from the national park who informed us that the walk is actually 14km all round.......heheheheheheeheeeee. I can laugh about it now, but back then all I wanted was to find our camp and to sit. Another memory to treasure always..........

I have titled this creation ..............."Adventure"..

I started off my layout with a piece of brown cardstock and worked in the Fabscraps patterned paper "Tropical Jungle"....(the Stripes) and "Tropical Flowers" by tearing and piecing it all back together in layers.

I have added in some Fabscraps Chippies....the title and the branch leaves.

I have punched embossed and inked my own leaves to co-ordinate with the Fabscraps striped paper.

Oh la la the crackle effect on the title is just awesome!! Love Crackle!!!!!

I also applied some to my metal clocks with a little ink.

I have also included some most gorgeous lace motifs and trims.

Some beautiful blooms......

Okay and a little hand dyed cheesecloth to top it all off. I have used my Distress Ink.....Evergreen Bough.....which I keep very handy at my table now.....think it has to be a new favourite colour!

And from another view.

Another....

And another....you can see a little more of the layering here.

Well I certainly hope you have enjoyed my Fabscraps layout.
There are still lots more to come so stay tuned.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and happy scrapping.

"In Full Bloom" - Fabscraps Design Team Creation

Hello and welcome back to my blog.
Today I have a share of the first of my creations for Fabscraps using the "Serenity" collection. These papers are just stunning and when I received them I couldn't wait to get started.

I have titled this layout ......"In Full Bloom".

This is a photo of my two girls taken very recently in our garden at home. They are blossoming into the loveliest of ladies. I couldn't be prouder of them!

Because of my title I went with of course a bountiful amount of flowers to adorn my page.

The gorgeous Fabscraps chippies here have been dressed with gesso, inks, crackle accents, paint and cut into  pieces and divided around the layout around each cluster.

I have used the outside frames of each chipboard piece to frame the photo dimensionally.

You can see the close-up of the crackle effect on these gorgeous Filigree Lily chipboards.

I so hope you have enjoyed my Fabulicious Design Team creation today.

Thank you for visiting me here and until next time happy scrapping.

"Dream Big" - Dusty Attic

Hello paper friends! Today I am sharing a creation I have designed by the inspiring moodboard at
The Dusty Attic !! Why not give it a go.

And this is my take on the Mood Boards. I have titled this layout
"Dream Big"............

The colours of this mood board screamed DRAMA......not sure why but I knew I had a photo to suit the occasion. I took this photo of my youngest by chance at a trip to Dreamworld some time ago. She had just been sitting very quietly contemplating her next ride when I took this. Those eyes pull on my heart strings. The only one of my children who have their fathers eyes and they get me every time.

I took away the blues and greens from the mood board and pretty much just kept adding with the reds and a touch of yellow to make it all pop.

All my beautiful ornate chippies were treated with a few coats of gesso and then inked and dressed with some Dusty Clear Crackle Varnish.

The branch chippies were simply swiped over randomly with some distress inks and then dressed with Dusty Attic Clear Crackle Varnish....love it!
