"Merry Christmas" Maja Design / Dusty Attic Design Team Project for December

Hello lovely friends and a big merry welcome.
Today I am sadly sharing my last Maja Design project for 2017. And since we are about to celebrate Christmas I just had to create one more layout depicting the season. My previous Maja Design post  was a Christmas layout using the beautiful Joyous Winterdays, so I decided to use this same collection again but using the reds, greens and creams of this collection.
I have added in a little black to help the project pop!
The focus of my project of course is a black and white photo of my eldest son and youngest daughter in a sweet embrace, enjoying the joys of unwrapping presents on Christmas morning in 2010.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did creating it.

Below are all the papers I used for "Merry Christmas". I tore the base of Evergreen to sit upon the Beautiful Pines. I have used the pattern of the pines and made the clusters on my page to look as close to as the pattern.  I cut several of the frames down from the Ephemera paper and layered with torn and cut pieces of the remainder of the reverse of Evergreen. I love the little stars on this. Can't wait to use this piece for another project. I did some stenciling using texture paste through the Dusty Attic script stencil and whilst it was wet sprinkled a little Dress My Craft Sparkling Dust and left it dry to the texture paste. I also did a little random stamping using a script stamp from my collection with black soot distress ink. I have also powder embossed the quote "Remember the moments in between" with black embossing powder at the left of the layout.

I have used a number of pieces of Dusty Attic chipboards to help create the design for my project here. The baubles were all inked with black soot distress ink and coated with Distress Crackle Clear Rock Candy to give an aged look to each. Once it dried I dry brushed them with a little white gesso. The pine sprigs which you can see above were wiped with Distress Ink Bundled Sage and also dressed in a little Distress Crackle too. I sprinkled some Diamond Dust over these whilst they were still wet too and left them to dry.

Here you can see the Antique Frame that I have used to help frame the photo as well as several of the frame mattings from the Ephemera sheet. This was dressed with Gesso, Distress Black Soot ink, Distress Crackle Paint and Diamond Dust.

I have used a number of different blooms from the 49andMarket Vintage Shades collection in shades of Blues, and Reds. I also added in some little pine cones which I have cut in half to sit on my page   flat.

And from a different view. Here you can see that I have added in some jute cording and also dressed my finished page with a little or a lot of dry brushing with gesso to help tone down the colours especially the black. I wanted it to look aged which I think I did achieve here, compared to how it look with only the ink.

Well that is all I have to share with you today. I hope I have inspired you to create something to get into the spirit of Christmas. Or maybe to scrap those special photos you will be taking in the upcoming week.
I would like this opportunity to thank you for all your support this year and to wish you and yours a most festive Christmas season and a very happy New Year.
Stay safe and take care.
Lots of love and hugs.............

"Awesome Summer Days" 49andMarket / Dusty Attic project

Hello and welcome back.
Today I am back with my second installment of Design Team work for 49andMarket.

 "Awesome Summer Days".......

This is my very first project using the new release collection of Rusty Autumn. And what a fabulous new collection it is. Full of the earthy rich colours of Autumn. See for yourself below.

I decided just to use this one piece of the Rusty Autumn called Blooming Autumn. This is a sensationally gorgeous piece I think just alone. So I kept the page very clean and adorned it with lots of gorgeous 49andMarket handmade flowers, burlap and Dusty Attic chipboards to finish it.

Here is the selection of flowers I added to this layout. Of course I didn't use them all, I just picked a few pieces from each pack and I used only the flowers. Love these flowers, they are just divine.

I have also cut some of the butterflies from the first collection of Vintage Artistry. They fit perfectly with this project.

And from another view. I have doubled some of the flowers over to give a more fuller appearance. I added in some Star Dust Stickles also to add some sparkle and then dry brushed my layout with a little gesso.

And as you can see above I have also added in some stamping. This was done using Gabi's Whimsical Door Stamp and some Distress Ink. I also used some burlap and distressed the edges.

Well that is all from me today. Take care and until next time happy scrapping.

"My happy place" - Dusty Attic Moodboard Creation for December 2017

Welcome and hello.
I hope that this blog post finds you well.
I am with you today to share my Moodboard inspired creation for The Dusty Attic for December. It is just gorgeous. I set to work pretty quickly after spying it on the facebook page. And of course I set about doing something a little beachy. I have also combined this with my design team work with 49andMarket using one of my favourite collections "Sand and Sea".

"My happy place"

For my creation I have used Sand and Sea paper from 49andMarket for my background. I did a little colouring with colours and Crackle Texture paste to help colour my paper a little more. With the left over mixture I dressed the Decorative Frame #3 which you can see below. Once it dried I added my photo to the back of it.

And to the back of this I then adhered the Ships Wheel medium. This piece of chippie was dressed in texture paste and ink.

So as you can see above I have used the awesome 3D embellishments from the collection of the same name. These are a perfect fit to this project and they add just a hint of that extra something. I have used the seaweed, the bubbles and oh the bottle....... I looooooove the bottle. What every good seaside layout should have is a bottle!

And you can see more of them below.... and the bottle of course !! ......

I have also added in some Dress my Craft beads.

This was my starting point. From here I added in some beautiful 49andMarket Floral Mixology flowers in champagne and Blue Hawaiin shades. I also added some of my own shells from my stash.

Working outwards from the decorative frame I added in a couple of the cute mini seagulls.

And then I ripped some pieces of the fish net panel and tucked them in and around the flower clustering.

And as you can see above I also added in some beautiful textured jute cording from 49andMarket. This is a really find cording which is perfect to lay over photos and frames. I added a little gesso to it too.

And lastly I added in my title "My happy place " from the mini tabs #6 sheet. I adore these they are just perfect. This was simply dressed with a little white gesso and adhered to the base of my layout.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you will try your hand at this month's moodboard which I have left here for you below. Gorgeous isn't it ? You could win yourself $100 worth of Dusty Attic goodies. Simply create something using something from the moodboard which inspires you along with some Dusty Attic products and post it to the blog page before the end of December. Good luck !!

Hugs
