"Beauty" 49andMarket and Dusty Attic December Project with Video

Hello and welcome. I am here today with you to share a project that I created with inspiration from this months most stylish and delectable board ever! I really am not into purple, but black and silver with purple, well that is a whole other conversation altogether.
The quote "Be your own kind of beautiful" really got me to thinking about a photo my eldest daughter took of herself a few weeks back and it was simply beautiful which is where I went with my layout.
So for those who have not seen the moodboard I have added it below. Why not give the moodboard a go. There is a $100 Dusty Attic voucher for the winning entry. All you need do, is create a project incorporating some Dusty Attic goodness and link it to the right hand side of the blog to be in the running.

And my interpretation of the moodboard is

"Beauty"

In my big box of 49andMarket goodies I came across the “Conservatory” patterned paper from the Heirloom Botanicals collection. I was very pleased to see that I still had a sheet left! This was my starting point and base paper for this project. I added in some stencilling firstly using a little texture paste through the Dusty Attic Heart Attack stencil.

I decided that the hearts needed a little colour so I added in some Dusty Attic acrylic paint(Sugar Plum)to give the hearts some life.

And what is a layout without fussy cutting. Well I think I certainly did my fair share of fussy cutting for this one. I wanted to added that touch of silver / grey to the layout and I found it in the Flower Fairies of Spring collection on “At the Quarry”. I had a section already fussy cut in my goodies box from a previous project. I also decided to cut another sheet to add more detail to my project so I could add them altogether to make a frame for my page.

You can see more of the fussy cut elements from this view here.

I have used the gorgeous Dusty Antique #2 frame to sit behind the photo to lift it a little more. This chippie piece was inked with Distress Ink Black Soot and then I drew in some liquid pearls to help it stand out from the layout. On the top of the cluster I have added in the Dusty Heart piece from the Dusty Fancy Flourish #2 and on top of that I popped a strip from the Wordplay #2 chipboards. I love these new additions. Just perfect for layouts that only need a small title or for journalling also.

And of course I have added in my all time favourite 49andMarket Rustic Blooms.I changed the colours using Dusty Attics acrylic paints (Sugar Plum and Soot) and some Color Bloom Spray Mist.

The Antique frame from another view. I have also added in some stained muslin and a couple of butterflies cut from the Flower Fairies of Spring Cut out Sheet.

"Happiness" Maja DT / Dusty Attic Project December

Hello once again and welcome. Today I am here to share a project created for both
Maja Designs and Dusty Attic, I have combined my Design Team work into one making life a little easier for myself this month!
We recently celebrated our youngests 12th birthday, and thinking of what to buy her was a total nightmare. It kept me awake for many nights. But one night I had an epiphany! Chickens!! My husband thought that I had lost my marbles finally, but as it turns out, they were the best birthday present she has ever received. This particular photo was one of many taken only days after she received them. I think this photo captures her true happiness. She is so very devoted to these little guys who, may I add, have grown very quickly over the past 4 weeks. They love to sit on her shoulder and feed from her hands. She even does her violin practice outside with them whilst they are running free under her strict supervision. So with this I created a soft pretty page to help her remember her happiness at receiving these little guys. Oh and by the way the little one in the photo with her has been named "Duck"...so very funny....but as funny as it sounds it really does suit her!!
This has been titled......"Happiness".

Ok so now onto the layout. Like I said I wanted to create something something soft and pretty, so to do this I have used Maja Design's Vintage Spring Basics collection. I have teamed the 7th of April with the 2nd of April bs. When I started out I really didn't have much of an idea of where I was going with it but as the days rolled on I started to lean towards more of a mixed media layout.

My first piece of Dusty Attic that I used was this gorgeous Floral Frame #2. I have dressed it heavily in Vintage Silver Embossing Enamel. I love the effect it left on the chippie after a few layers.

I also used the same embossing powder to create some texture on the Maja Design 7th of April patterned paper. You can also see here the bottom part of the frame. The other Dusty Attic piece I used was from the ATC Frame Set #2. This was dressed in Liquid Pearls (Buttercup). Over the top of it I added some of the embossing enamel to bring the layout together.

You can see the frame better in the photo below.

I have also used a little Viva Inka Gold to colour my background and help these photos pop. And some splashes of gesso and more inka gold.

I have used some gorgeous Prima Marketing Blooms to embellish the page along with Green Tara blossoms and a most gorgeous Lace Motif piece from my go to shop A Place to Create. One of the Prima Blooms I changed up, to co-ordinate with my background colourings. The Green Tara blossoms were also coloured with the liquid pearls and Distress Ink Walnut Stain.

And a new favourite Dusty piece is this Page Pebble from the #9 pack. This is just adorable. It too was dressed with Liquid Pearls and Embossing Enamel.

Well that is all from me today. I really do hope you enjoyed your visit here today. Until next time happy scrapping.
