"Life's a Beach" - Design Team creation for The Scrapbook Store

Hello once again. Twice in one week to be here is unheard of ......!
Yes I am back on board for a couple of days at least. Renovating the house is somewhat monotonous to say the least. So a little time out is always good to refresh the body and soul.
So for today I have another creation for The Scrapbook Store. I am using the collection from Echo Park...."Jack & Jill". This layout has been called
"Life's a Beach".

Every now and then I wander through photos hoping to be inspired and I have been finding more and more of late that the older photos are those that inspire me the most. They may not always be of the best quality but they are so very close to my heart.
This photo was taken nearly 10 years ago now on a Easter holiday spent at Seaforth Beach camping and soaking up the beautiful North Queensland sun.

Used a little Kaisercraft on this one. The anchor is a wood flourish that I have crackled with texture crackle and rubbed a little distress ink over it once dry.

And some beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard goodness. This fish net panel is a huge favourite of mine. And the beautiful title!.....but more than anything I love love love  these corner scrolls. I have tried to use them to frame the photo.

Here you can see the layering of the papers.

And from another view.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me here today. I really do appreciate it.
Hoping you have a very creative week.

"You Sparkle Everywhere You Go" - April DT creation for The Scrapbook Store

A warm welcome back on this rather cool morning!!
Today I have another of my Design Team creations for The Scrapbook Store using the Jack & Jill collection from Echo Park.
As always I have embellished to my hearts delight with lots of Chipboards, Knick Knacks, and of course the ever important embellishment.......flowers.
This creation I have titled "You Sparkle Everywhere You Go".

My background consists of papers distressed and punched from the Jack & Jill collection. I have also added in a little Kraft cardstock for good measure.

And a little or a lot of Dusty Attic goodness. My chipboard collection as you can well imagine is somewhat extensive. So on collecting embellishments for this I stumbled across those pieces which have been sitting in a leftover pile.......! Bits had been cut from them, but I managed to piece it all together and I am really happy with the end result. These skeleton clock faces have always  been a huge hit with me. I have simply applied crackle paste with a little distress ink to give them a shabby effect.

Some close-ups......

This Dusty Attic Flourish was simply inked with a little Distress Walnut Stain and then I randomly dry brushed gesso over it. It has been cut up into 4 pieces to be spread around the layout.

And a few additional embellishments never go astray...i.e. charms, wooden spools, and some metal trinkets along with a piece of distressed cheesecloth and some sticker words from the Jack & Jill collection with some word sets from Collections Elements.

And a couple of more close - ups........

So that is about all from me today. I hoped you have enjoyed your visit here.
As always I have listed the materials used for this layout below. All materials used are available from The Scrapbook Store........

Hope you all have a very crafty week....enjoy!!

"Beautiful Smile" - Design Team Creation for The Scrapbook Store

Good morning and welcome back!
Here at the Ollett residence, there has been a lot of illness. I was the first to go down with the terrible bug and it has gradually made it's way around to every family member. So it had been a whole week since I had been able to get my craft on. And let me tell you a little something.....I was more than excited to get some time to create.

I have created this next layout for my Design Team position over at The Scrapbook Store.
I have once again used the Echo Park - "Jack & Jill" collection. I in the past weeks have really gravitated to the reds and pinks which I find a lot different for me and this also meant I had to go hunting for red flowers which I do not seem to have a great deal of in my collection.

Shock and horror I know!!!

Anyways, this one I have titled
"Beautiful Smile"

I hope you like it...........

I firstly started by building the layout with layers of the Echo Park "Jack & Jill" papers as listed for you below. I have cut the middle from mostly all of them and then started distressing and layering.
The photo matting was done the same and this was my starting point.

I have again used the Kaisercraft Berry Vine Die to make branches for more layering in the background. These were given a coat of gesso and wiped over with a mixture of Walnut Stain and Shabby Shutters distress inks.

Some beautiful floral blooms from Prima Marketing Inc.,Green Tara and Petaloo. All have been given a wipeover with watered down gesso. Also added in a little Prima Shabby Chic resin for good measure........!

I have used unbelievably or not, the Chipboard and Sticker Sheet that goes with this beautiful collection. I have a couple of friends who know how very much I detest stickers........but, I have found the solution..............baby powder!!. I just rub over the sticky side with a little baby powder and wahla!! No stickiness and I can put it wherever I wish!!
And this quote "the prettiest thing you can wear is a smile"
was a must have for this layout! Don't you agree??

Clustering and layering of the journal cards and Echo Park's chippies with added hessian and cheesecloth.

Another chippie piece from the collection "Cute as a Button"....!
This has been layered over the background paper which I have also randomly stamped. The window and Dusty Attic Chipboards have all been dressed with Crackle Paint and Distress Inks.

Below is the materials used for this layout all available from The Scrapbook Store .

"Precious"

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to my blog.
Today I am sharing my Design Team work for The Scrapbook Store.
This month I am working with Echo Park and the collection titled "Jack & Jill". I was lucky enough to receive the Jill half of the collection with all the prettiness that goes with being a girl. So without further ado please find below my first creation using this collection which I have titled
.............. "Precious"..............

I came across these photos of my eldest daughter the other day while hunting for something else. They are probably not the best quality photo but I think what I love about this photo is the tender moment that Ashlea shares whilst feeding this kangaroo at a zoo visit to Illawarra about 10 years ago.

Since the photo depicts a pastel rainbow of colours in Ashlea's dress I kept with this and created a Shabby Chic styled layout. I have made layers with the "Jack & Jill" papers and added in an extra piece of Egg Blue Cardstock to make the page pop a little more.

I have used chipboards from Dusty Attic - Vintage Nameplate......which has to be one of my favourites of all time. This has been simply Crackled using Finnabairs Art Extravagance - Texture Past (White Crackle). After it dried and crackled I rubbed a little Distress Ink into the cracks.

I think I cut about 100 of these Berry Vines from the Kaisercraft Die. I just kept going and going until I got the right colour. So each Berry Vine was coated randomly with Liquitex Gesso, heat dried and then I rubbed in Distress Inks - Black Soot, Walnut Stain and Pumice Stone until I got the desired colour.
