"Keep Your Face To the Sunshine"

Hi and welcome.....

Again I am using papers from the Graphic 45 "Time to Flourish" collection, but this time I decided to get my grunge on and do a boys page with the month of August papers .
This doesn't happen too often that not a flower can be found.

This one is titled "Keep Your Face to the Sunshine".......

So whenever I do a boys page I find that I keep them relatively simple.....the reason why I can't explain, it's just how it happens. I have created this layout using a mixed media background with lots of Stenciling and inking with some random stamping.

I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I love to use Dusty Attic's Rusting Powder. It gives a most perfect texture to chipboards when looking for something a little grungy or rustic. And I find I never have the same effect, because I am also using something differing beneath the rusting layer whether it be paint inks mist or just bare chipboard.

Here you can see the effect of the rusting powder more clearly. The Fabscraps chipboard was firstly coated with gesso, inked and then the rusting powder applied randomly and left overnight once I applied the vinegar.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope your day is a fabulous one!!

"Sweet Summer Memories"

Hi and welcome once again!!

Today I have my third Design Team creation for The Scrapbook Store.
I am again using the fabulous Graphic 45 " Time to Flourish"collection, but this time I am using the month of June range with these gorgeous blue and pink hues. The instant I saw these papers I immediately   dug out this photo of my sweet gorgeous girl from a few years back.
I remember this day so well. The eldest two were at school and it was just Cydne and myself out in the garden doing some weeding until she found a patch of lavender that was surrounded by butterflies. Off to the shed she ran to find the fishing net that we had purchased on the previous weekend to catch redclaw at the local creek. But she had different ideas for the net.
That morning was spent chasing butterflies and bees something I will never forget!!
So this is why I have titled this layout......
"Sweet Summer Memories".

I wanted to keep this layout as clean as possible but I also wanted to give it a shabby chic look so I have added in quite a lot of white washing to do this.

All the chipboards have been dressed with Ranger's Crackle paint (Picket Fence). Once it was dried I then rubbed in some distress inks into the cracks.

Lots of Prima and Petaloo here. These have all been washed over with a watered down Gesso mix a couple of times to get the desired hue to co-ordinate with the papers.

Maya Road Banner Trim and some Prima Floral Trim were left clean to help the coloured flowers pop off the page.I have also done a little fussy cutting from the June Flourish Patterned Paper.

I have cut the Graphic 45 June Cut Apart up and halved and layered the cut aparts to go further.

Here you can see the layers that I have used within the page.

Well I certainly hope you have been a little inspired by this today and I would love to thank you for visiting me here.
If you keep scrolling I have listed a complete materials list for this layout all available from
The Scrapbook Store.

Until next time happy scrapping.

#happy days

Hi and welcome back again.

Today I have the second of my Design Team creations for The Scrapbook Store. If you haven't been here before you really should just pop bye for a quick look......but beware you may stay longer as I have done on numerous occasions!
So today my creation base is another Graphic 45 "Time to Flourish" inspired piece. When I think of orange and blues together I always come back to the beach. And I had happened to come across this photo of my boy Hayden as the precious age of 5 on his first fishing experience. This photo really pulls on my heart strings so this layout means so very much in so many differing ways.

This one is titled "#happy days".

This layout has as you can see is a base of mixed media. I firstly started off with a 12 x 12" piece of chipboard and covered it with gesso. I stenciled in some texture paste and then coloured the background using a multitude of colours which are listed below for you.

I have used some beautiful Blue Fern Studio flourish chipboards available from The Scrapbook Store.

And as usual a little more chipboards pieces.....#happydays title (Dusty Attic) and the Anchor (Fabscraps). Each of these were dressed with gesso, distress inks, crackle accents and Star Dust Stickles.

This collection from Graphic 45 is just stunning and I have fallen head over heels in looooooove with the Cut Apart pages. You can see here that I have cut the frame work from the Cut Apart (August) page along with the reverse of both the Cut Apart and August Flourish pages as matting to make the photo pop from the background. I wanted the photo to be the star of my page!!

And oooooh lala....the background close-up. I have mixed a bit of paint along with a lot of glimmermists. I have also dry brushed all of my flowers with a little gesso and tucked a little tea dyed cheesecloth in behind and around the layout.

I have, as always, listed below the materials used for this layout, which are available from

Well I hope you have enjoyed this layout as much as I did creating it.
Hope you have a most wonderful day and happy crafting!!

"Girl with Binoculars" -Steampunk OTP

Hi and welcome once again.

Today I am sharing the third of my Design Team creations for Fabscraps using the "Floral Delight" collection. I have run out of these papers......but rest assured if I can get my hands on more I most definitely will. This project for me was a little challenging. I was asked very kindly by the lovely Tish to create a  Off The Page Project with a Steampunk theme!

Um Steampunk?
Have never ever ventured this way before......so I took to using my good friend Google to do some research firstly to get me on track.

From then I got to thinking about a stamp pack I purchased whilst on Easter holidays last year at a fantastic Art shop my husband found in Harvey Bay........! It has worked in perfectly  with this theme.

So I have called this one - "Girl with Binoculars".

You can see here the amount of wonderful Chipboards that I have used. The Fabscraps Filigree Shelves are absolutely delish! I have dressed these randomly in gold embossing powders and then quite heavily used distress inks to colour them up a little more to make them pop off the torn and inked corrugated board. I have cut these clock hands from the Tim Holtz sizzix die and covered them with the "Floral Delight" pattern papers.

You can see here that I have used a lot of chipboard and some most Fabulous Fabscraps Charms....!

I have layered the cogs, stamped clocks and the chipboard Fabscraps Frames with the charms

And from another angle.

Have I mentioned how much I love these charms. Here I have attached this beautiful piece as the body to the Filigree butterfly and wrapped some twine through the top and then around the project.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this OTP project.
As always, I have included a full materials list with step by step instructions....just keep scrolling.

I wish you a wonderful day and until next time....happy scrapping!

"Follow Your Bliss"

Hi and welcome back.

Today I am sharing my very first Design Team creation for the Scrapbook Store.
This layout that I have created, I feel really reflects my style of scrapping. I am not sure what you would call this....but this is me!!
So for those of you who know me will know how much  I loooooove to fussy cut.....I find it very relaxing, strangely enough!! And there is certainly enough here to have made me extremely carefree!

I have titled this layout "Follow Your Bliss".

For this layout I have used  Graphic 45 "Time to Flourish" collection (March Cut Apart and March Flourish). I started off by fussy cutting the March Flourish patterned paper...the whole page. I then cut up the March Cut Apart. I created a bordered background with a second piece of the March Cut Apart and Cream Cardstock and then created a background of mixed media with gesso, texture paste and a stencil(TCW - Grid Lines).
Using Rangers Distress Inks (Dusty Concord and Evergreen Bough) I coloured the base.

Here you can see the layering of the March Cut Aparts along with the Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish Window which I have crackled and layered with fussy cut pieces from the March Flourish paper.

Here you can see some of the background colouring with Distress Inks.
And the chipboard title was simply coated with Kaisercraft Antique Cream paint and then swiped with some Star Dust Stickles to make it pop a little.

A close-up of the crackled window....loooove this effect. I have coloured this with a little Forest Moss Distress Ink and layered a little cheesecloth to soften the layout.

And lastly I have added the quote from the March Cut Apart paper, it reads:

May your thoughts
be as glad as the SHAMROCKS,
May your HEART
be as light as a SONG,
may each day bring you bright,
HAPPY hours that
stay with you all the year long.

Well I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today. If you keep scrolling you will find a full Materials List for this layout.
Remember these goodies can be purchased over at The Scrapbook Store

Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

"Love you ......"

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I have some exciting news to share. I have now joined the Design Team over at The Scrapbook Store. I feel so very honoured to have been asked and I am extremely excited to bring you the very first of my interpretations of the monthly sketches. So for the month of February this is the fabulous sketch.

For this sketch I turned it around and I have done a little mixed media on some of my most favourite of paper collections from Prima Marketing Inc. the Stationer's Desk.

I decided to go with some photos of my son and I, taken about 6 years ago. He is always pulling faces for the camera so this is the norm!! But I so love these photos of he and I together!

I have added in some Prima Marketing Inc Resin....and of course Prima Marketing Flowers.

And of course I have used lots and lots of chipboards.

I have sponged my background page with a little Gesso and using some mists and distress inks I coloured over the top of it and then did some random stamping using  7 Dots Studio acrylic stamps from the "Thoughts Keeper" collection from The Scrapbook Shop....go HERE.

So if you feel up for a challenge try out this one....I am sure you will love it as much as I did!

Until next time.

Happy Scrapping
