Once Upon A Time

Happy Saturday to you and welcome back. Today I wanted to share a rather older layout that I have created, but an all time favourite. I can't recall the actual happenings of these photos, but lets just say it is not a common occurence for Cydne. She is a really easy going child, but pushed she WILL rebel. But what I do remember on this day was that she was riding a scooter up and down our driveway whilst wearing  a beautiful pink party dress!!!

 I hope you enjoy this.

I chose to use this very elegant range of papers from the Fabscraps Classic collection.

I have adorned the layout with flowers and resins from Prima. The closed rosebuds - are from I am Roses.

The Journalling reads:
My sweet, precious Cydne. Even you have had a moment when you thought that life was treating you unfairly.

The photos have been framed using the doily wood flourishes from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you here again soon.

Once Upon A...Sketch - February 2014 Challenge

"Selfies"

Well I have been extremely busy today - trying to get February's Once Upon A..Sketch Challenge completed!! And so here I am. The journalling theme this month is "Totally Addicted To...". My immediate thought was my family and then I turned and found my eldest daughter sitting with me in the car taking "Selfies". Yes - this is a regular occurrence in our house. Sometimes Ashlea even coaxes her younger sister into a photo or two. I have used the Sketch provided by the talented Nadia and completed the layout in a Mixed Media format with lots of paints, mists, stencils and stamping.

This is my take on the sketch and journalling theme.

And some close-ups...........

Lots of Prima Flowers ......all dusted with paints and gesso.

I added journalling to the layout in strips of patterned papers. The journalling reads :

Ashlea, your compulsion to take daily self portraits is ever growing - becoming a teenager!!! xx

Memory Maze chipboard heart - painted crackled and accented then mounted.

I used a couple of new stamps which I absolutely fell head over heels in love with.
Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz Collection,
and Crafty Individuals - Crackle.
Both were used with acrylic paint and stamped randomly. I also stamped a portion and embossed it in silver.

A materials list has been listed below for your convenience.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit here. If you would like to play hop along to the Once Upon A...Sketch blog.

Mixed Media Class - "Adore"

Well a happy Saturday afternoon to you!

It has definitely been a very long week for me with so much running around with after school activities, so here I am, finally able to share some sneak peeks of my upcoming March classes. I can't wait to do this class. Am a little excited to say the least. Remember to bring your aprons ladies, we're going to be getting very messy!!!

This will be an extended class of 4 hours. You will create your own backgrounds and everything else that comes in your kit will be dressed to suit you. Plenty of techniques, even a few new ones with of course  with a lot of dimension and detail.

Prima Stamps and a chipboard from Memory Maze. The Vintage frame has been a fave of mine for some time. Think this is the last one in my stash. Time to restock!!

We will be using the newest of the Sizzix / Tim Holtz dies just out. The one above which you can see is the Curly Gate die. And below is the most beautiful Garden Greens of the Sizzix / Tim Holtz Dies.

Beautiful Prima flowers.

Okay of course you can't forget some Chipboards - Chicken Wire from Memory Maze.

Some Prima resins - the Birdcage.

And of course I have to mention my sweet girl Cydne, who always loves to strike a pose for her Mum. Love you to pieces Cydne.......

Thanks for visiting.
Until next time..

"Precious Moments"

Quick share of a favourite vintage style layout from a little way back. The photo is of my mum as a very small child. So cute!!
Everyone who knows me well knows that no layout is complete without some or a lot of chipboard and flowers!! In my case sometimes a lot.
This layout funnily enough was completed using a Halloween collection of papers from Authentique. I used the reverse which I found to be more to my liking!!

"Precious Moments"

Sticker journalling reads :
Diane Lesley Raines (1955)

Prima Flowers and Cabichon, Green Tara glass branch leaves.

Memory Maze chipboard Flourish Corners.

Memory Maze chipboard words.

Thanks for visiting.

Hope you have a lovely day.

"Wonderful"

Hello to you all.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today.
For those of you who are thinking of doing the "Wonderful" Class coming, up I have a couple of sneaky photos to share with you. This layout is full of fussy cutting and detail with not as much dimension as I usually like, but it still has a lot going on. Of course it contains my at the moment favourite use of lace, lots of sparkle with the use of bling, liquid pearls and Star Dust Stickles, die-cut pieces to dress up, distressing and layering.

Die cut window and fence dressed to sparkle.

A little dimension with layering of fussy cut florals.

 Distressed edges - layered.

The punched edged border dressed up with liquid pearls.

And from another angle.

Hope you all enjoy this, and remember if your interested in doing this class the complete layout can be found at Bella Paperie. Class date is for this is 21st March 9.30am.
