"Love Always"

Welcome once more to my blog. I hope you will be inspired by the latest of my creations for
The Scrapbook Store this month.
I am ever so grateful to have been supplied the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily collection. I seriously could create forever with this collection. The colour choice is absolutely delectable and it really could suit any style of scrapbooking. But I have definitely enjoyed using it this month for all my photographs from our wedding day. And funny as it is our anniversary is only a matter of day away. So what a great way to celebrate our milestone than to gather together the photos and create with them.

For this layout which I have titled "Love Always", I have used a photo of my son (who was ring bearer) and myself having a moment together before our short drive to the church. This photo to me is so very touching. Firstly because he was able to share this special day with us and I suppose secondly that it is a photo of he and myself....which is really quite rare as I am usually behind the camera.

This was to be the second of my layouts but it turned out to be the most time consuming to do. No only am I  the slowest scrapper in the world.....but I am a true procrastinator! So for this layout I have done a lot of fussy cutting not only the floral clusters but I have fussy cut a sheet of frames and also gutted them and then backed them with alternating backgrounds. Some of these frames have been layered a couple of time or I have simply cut them into 2's or 3's and spread them around the layout so they go further. This is such an economical way to use papers.

I adore this little chipboard lamp I found in a set from Blue Fern Studios. It is so darn cute. Had actually lost it then turned the whole art room apart looking for it only to find it sitting on my desk the whole time.....arghhhhh. Anyway when I did find it I added some yummy texture to it using a little of Finnabairs art Extravagance Texture Paste Crackle followed with a little distress ink and a little lace to make it a little cuter!

So you will see here that I have used some very yummy and I believe quite new additions to the Dusty Attic chipboard range. These Ornamental Trims have simply been coated with Ranger Liquid Pearls and left to sit and dry. I added in a few Kaisercraft pearls to highlight areas.

I have layered the fussy cut florals with the frames and vice versa, as you can see here.

Some more closeups for you........

And one more......

Thank you so much for stopping by today.....means a lot to have you here.

So once again if you are needing a materials list just keeping scrolling down.

Have a wonderful weekend and happy scrapping...

Once Upon A Time - July Creation for The Scrapbook Store

Hi there and welcome back. I hope you are happy and well.
Today I have a share of a new layout created for The Scrapbook Store. I was so extremely fortunate to have the "Gilded Lily" collection from Graphic 45 as part of my goodie box for July. Suzanne also included some gorgeous Petaloo International flowers for me to play with.
Again I chose to use another photo from my wedding day as this range screams romance to me. The papers are so soft and delicate and really have so many colours to select from.

I have titled this layout............

"Once Upon A Time"

I recently went on a little shopping spree ( with a little help from a beautiful friend) at a craft and hobby fair where I stumbled across these gorgeous laces. They were a must have for me. So for this layout I took some time to do some tea dyeing. I was however so very careful with the large motif as it is heavily beaded and sequinned and I wasn't too sure how it would take but it turned out I think beautifully.

The Dusty Attic titled chipboard "Once Upon A Time" was simply embossed with some Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel. The large Dusty Attic Flourish was firstly gessoed, then painted then stamped and embossed. A little ink was wiped around the edges to highlight areas.

Some gorgeous mini wild antique peach roses along with some Teastaine Blue petite Petaloo International Florals.

Here you can see I have added in some cheesecloth which was also hand dyed in a little steeped tea.

And a few more close-ups.

I hope you have enjoyed the third of my creations for July. The fourth is only a little way away. Remember all products used here are available over at The Scrapbook Store. For your convenience I have listed products for this layout below.

Until next time take care and happy crafting.

"Always and Forever" - DT creation for The Scrapbook Store

A very warm welcome to you.
I have, today the second of my Design Team creations for July for The Scrapbook Store. As previous I am using Graphic 45's "Gilded Lily" collection. I think I could scrap forever with these precious papers. And again I have used a wedding photo in sepia tone to keep with the softness of the patterned papers.
I have titled this layout .........
"Forever and Always"

This layout I wanted to keep quite simple to leave the focus on the photo.
I started with staining some cheesecloth in tea and once it was dry I draped it to the left and right of the photo to extend the beach on to the layout.

I have used a beautiful title chipboard from Blue Fern Studios "Always and Forever". This was inked then crackled and then inked once dry. The Dusty Attic chipboard bird was simply gessoed and inked.

The Dusty Attic Marrakesh Trellis was treated with Liquid Pearls to make it pop off the page.

From another angle.

As with most of my beach layouts I like to incorporate shells which I have also done here. I found this beautiful partly damaged shell which I have sat a pipi shell on top of and then added a Graphic 45 sticker word to the centre of it with a little more cheesecloth draped through the shell.

I have torn a piece of a frame from the patterned papers to sit behind the left top and bottom right of the photo to mount it.

Here is a better view of the stacked shells with a little piece of dried seaweed tucked behind.
Keep scrolling for the materials used.
Thank you for visiting me here today and I hope to see you back very soon.

"Kiss" created for The Scrapbook Store

Hello and welcome back.
Today I am so very happy to say that I was very fortunate to open a goodies box from The Scrapbook Store full of Graphic 45's newest collection of "Gilded Lily". I was and am still very excited to be using this collection.
I love the Vintage feeling of these muted papers and of course you will know by know of how much I love Vintage and everything associated with it. But for this layout I wanted to use some photos from my wedding day that unfortunately were not of the best pixelation......but I still chose to use them by making them smaller and adding a Sepia tone to match in with the papers.
I hope you like this........

"Kiss"

So these photographs were taken in far North Queensland on a not so sunny day....and actually at the time these photos were taken whilst it was raining .....not hard, but enough to make this bride want to get out of the rain.  If you have a close up look at the photos.....especially the first you may have a giggle to yourself.....well I do every time I see this photo. But you know it was part of the day and we all thought it funny that my dress had only been worn for a few hours and it was falling apart already.....! My husband had bent me over to kiss me and wahlah.....my jewellery straps snapped and I almost lost my dress.

I did a little background work using acrylic paints and gesso. Making drips and splatters to flow on from beneath the lilies and leaves.

So the instant I took these papers from the box I knew there would be some fussy cutting to be done. And I decided that that would be all the flower embellishments I would need. I did of course embellish with other pieces i.e. Blue Fern Studio chipboards and a little Dusty Attic.
These were all dressed with gold embossing powder and painted randomly with co-ordinating acrylic paints and gesso.

Here is this beautiful piece of damask flourish chipboard from another angle. I laid some tea stained cheesecloth beneath it and adorned the top of it with a sanded sticker from the Graphic 45 collection.

Here you can see the cluster of layers of fussy cut flowers at the right of the page. And this piece of Dusty Attic chipboard fence is just mesmerising. It is so very intricate.....love it. All these wonderful chipboards and paper collection are available at The Scrapbook Store.

That's all from me today. I hope you enjoyed being here and I so hope to see you again very soon.

"Friend" - July Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store

Good morning and I hope you are well.Today I have my latest creation for The Scrapbook Store.
This was created using this month's Sketch designed by the ever so talented and extremely lovely Marelize Frisby. See below.

I have titled this layout "Friend"............

This photo of our beautiful "Rafael" was only taken last year on one of his first visits to the beach. And as you can see he wasn't overly happy about the whole situation. But isn't it funny how time changes everything. He knows instantly now if he is going to the beach and can't get into the car fast enough. I refer to Rafael as my "chocolate shadow". He was originally bought for my sons birthday, but for one reason or another this little guy has not left my side since the day he come home. He is my best friend and I could not imagine my life without him...........

On my recent visit to the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo I was lucky enough to come across these 7 Dots papers ........"Destination Unknown".....which I have admired for so very long, so it was time to do the purchase. And on my way around the stores I found the Scrapmatts stand. And lets just say between you and me and the brick wall I made another purchase and I am so very glad I did!

The starting point to my layout was to tear and adhere pieces. I did some curling of the papers which I have found I like to do lately to give my layouts that depth and dimension. I followed the sketch in that I have used a circular chipboard to frame my photo. I decided however not to use two photos as I didn't have a second one and I was a little short on time.

I absolutely adore these Scrapmatts  chipboards from the "Nautical Design" collection. What I also like about these is that they come ready to use.

Along with the Scrapmatts chipboards I have used some Prima Marketing Inc. and Petaloo International flowers.
You will also see that I have used many extra pieces that you won't find in the shops. I have an obsession with collecting found bits and pieces on every holiday we have at the beach and the obsession has moved on to my daughters, who love to help me collect. We spend many hours collecting those special pieces that you will find on some of my beach layouts.

On this layout I have used sticks washed up on the shoreline of the beach which we often holiday. Along with seaweed, shells and a couple of flowers which have stood the test of time in the bucket where I store all these goodies!

You can see here the anchor tucked away behind all the other embellishments. Just like you would see on the beach! I have included some drips and splatters using Tattered Angels Glam Paints. I have also dry brushed in places to highlight some areas of my layout.

Well I hope you have liked my layout "Friend" and enjoyed your stay here.
You can find the materials used listed below and if you feel you have time have a go at this month's Sketch Challenge at The Scrapbook Store.

Happy scrapping.
