"Blessed" Design Team creation for The Scrapbook Store

Hello and welcome.
Today I have the last installment of my Graphic 45 creations for The Scrapbook Store.
I have saved this one for last as I had this most memorable photo to use. A moment captured by my camera. The moment my third daughter, only hours old meets her older sister for the first time.

"Blessed"

For this creation I have used all of my left over bits and pieces from the remaining collection with a lot of additional chipboard pieces to bring the layout to life.

I couldn't go without using the remaining fussy cut florals and butterflies. The Fabscraps window that you see here has been dressed with white crackle paste and rubbed over with Ranger Aqua acrylic paint randomly. The other chipboards have been treated similarly.

The window frame was backed with the remaining tags and then more fussy cut flowers were added .

The photo was matted with the remaining Graphic 45 Precious Memories frames which were torn in half to make them go further and to give some more dimension to the layout.

I added a little glass bottle to add the sticker word "Girl". Everything was dry brushed with both gesso and acrylic aqua paint.

The Dusty Attic Ironwork Banner was cut out from the centre and added to the base of the layout to sit under the bird bath. The layout was then embellished with Petaloo International Botanical Blooms in aqua white and teal.

"She is Sugar and Spice....." Design Team Creation for The Scrapbook Store

Welcome once again my paper friends.Today I have the fourth of my Design Team creations for The Scrapbook Store. As you will already know I have been extremely lucky enough this month to have received the Graphic 45 Precious Memories collection. Full of gift tags, stickers, patterned papers all suitable for creations of babies, either new arrivals or just for a chance to embrace what was.
But for this creation I decided to change it up a little.
I have only used two pieces from the Graphic 45 collection and added to it with a little Prima Marketing Inc. and my own handmade transparencies....which I love to do!!!!!!
So with out further ado I present .....

"She is Sugar and Spice...."

My background papers have all been torn and very heavily distressed and then layered to give a more dimensional feeling.

This chipboard piece (the Elegant Flourish) has been sitting on my table for quite some time. I have been so eager to use it but it has never quite suited until now. I chose to emboss it in black and then dry brush with some gesso. I cut it into three and divided it out across the layout in sections.

Unfortunately photographing transparencies is not so easy so I do apologise for the glariness of this photo. It give you some idea however about the layering of this layout however.

The crackling on the heart is just divine and I absolutely loved using these new florals from Prima Marketing Inc. and also the canvas burlap separate floral pieces from Petaloo. For these I simply rolled them and glued again to give some more dimension.

Well that is all from me today. I certainly hope you have enjoyed you visit here.
Remember I as always I have a materials list below for your convenience.

Happy crafting.

"Precious Memories" - The Scrapbook Store Design Team Creation

Hello paper friends! Today I have a Design Team creation for The Scrapbook Store using
Graphic 45's "Precious Memories" collection.
When I opened my goodie's box with these adorable papers I was instantly attracted to this particular piece. I immediately searched for baby photos and went to work in Photoshop making them black and white and reducing their sizes. And this was the end result. Was pretty happy to get eight photos on one single page. A new record for me!!!

After all the searching for photos which took an eternity I decided on these photos of my son Hayden who in only a couple of months will turn 16. I kept the photo of Hayden at two days old at the centre of the page surrounded by lots of fussy cut floral patterned papers from this collection. I wanted to keep this photo the focus of the page.

I also fussy cut each frame section to fit each photo. I kept the photos from baby to toddler ( 1 year ).

The left corner of the centre frame. There are 3 - 4 layers in the centre frame full of fussy cut florals, coloured cheesecloth, Prima Marketing Inc metal clock faces.

I have enhanced the card title going over the words "Precious Memories" with a little Star Dust Stickles. I have also applied a little to some of the fussy cut flower clusters.

I allowed enough space between cardstock and the Graphic 45 "Precious Memories" patterned paper using a piece of very thick cardstock between the two. This way I could use more than two layers of the fussy cut papers and other embellishing pieces.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here today.
Remember all the goodies used on this layout "Precious Memories" are available from

Happy scrapping.

"You Stole my Heart" - The Scrapbook Store May Design Team Creation

A very warm welcome back to my blog. I have been a little preoccupied this month with lots of my children's extra curricular activities. So it has given me time to sit and ponder about what I should and could do with the Graphic 45 collection "Precious Memories", which I have been allocated this month for The Scrapbook Store. It really got me thinking as to which photos I would use for this absolutely stunning collection. And I come across this photo which I know is not picture perfect. But it is a really special moment that Cydne and I shared and it means oh so much to me. Bathtime was always her most happiest time of a the day as a baby. She delighted in bubble blowing and just generally getting absolutely saturated, and I am not just talking about her, but me too!

I can't say that these colours are my go to colours of choice but.........I absolutely and positively love them now! So very soft and delicate allowing me to soften the colours more with a lace doily and coloured cheesecloth. The frame was hand cut using a go to chipboard template I have in my stash.

I softened the scalloped cardstock frame by distressing it both inside and out and then by further wiping around the frame with a little gesso using my finger. I layered the base using two contrasting cardstocks and the heart covered Graphic 45 Cutie Pie patterned paper.

And I just couldn't resist using the Maya Road Deer resin, it is so darn adorable. Was a must have for me on this layout!

All the pockets and tags from the Graphic 45 range have been arranged to sit as one large photo mat. Each pocket and tag were cut down to fit and then the edges were sanded randomly. I have then just layered and layered with resins cheesecloth, fussy cut flower clusters and dimensional flowers. Everything was then altered using watered down paints to achieve the coordinating colours.

I so hope you have been inspired in some way big or small. For more inspirational Design Team layouts you can pop on over to The Scrapbook Store. Everything used on this layout is available here. All materials used have been listed below for your convenience.
Thanks for visiting me here and I hope you have a most fantastic and creative week.

"Cute Stuff" The Scrapbook Store Sketch Challenge for May

Hello and welcome back.

Today I have for you my interpretation of the Sketch Challenge for May over at The Scrapbook Store. This month Marelize has created this wonderful sketch. And if you know me well enough, you would know how much I struggle with using more than one photo on a page!
But hello....this sketch has 5!!!!!!!!
Well I went into a little bit of what I would call overdrive. Spent a lot and I mean a lot of time searching my photos for something that would fit this sketch. And sure enough I found them after about 2 days of looking and procrastinating. Something I find a do well. But if it sounds like I am having a whinge.....I am most certainly not. But I do want to thank Marelize for a this wonderful sketch and challenge. I absolutely loved this sketch and the challenge is something I know that puts me outside my comfort zone, but I think it also forces me to do those things that I would not normally do. So if you are like me and need a little encouragement pop on over to The Scrapbook Store here. You will find this sketch that I have copied below, and much much more.

TSS_Sketch_-_May_2015.jpg

And this is my interpretation of the sketch. I had to name this one "Cute Stuff".

For this layout I started off with a Bazzill (Marshamallow) cardstock and created a media background using Modelling Paste through Finnabairs newest stencil....Bubbles. Love this stencil. I created more dimensional bubbles by adhering Cabochons over the top of some of the stenciled bubbles.

Of course I have used some most beautiful chipboards from Dusty Attic and Blue Fern Studios.

The Dusty Attic Decorative Scroll #1 was treated with a couple of differing techniques to give this gorgeous colour.

Here you can see that I have used circular Rhinestones around the layout to create more bubbles!

I love these chipboard titles from Blue Fern Studios. This one was simply powder embossed with black and silver embossing powders melted together to help highlight different sections of the title against the flower cluster.

A little chipboard heart from Memory Maze that has been crackled with Finnabairs Crackle Paste. It has been layered on top of these beautiful flowers from Prima Marketing Inc.

Well that all from me today.
So hope you enjoyed visiting me here.

Happy Scrapping
