"The ocean stirs the heart ......" 49andMarket Design Team Creation

Welcome back 49andMarket friends. I hope that this post finds you well. Today I have a beach themed project to share with you. I think by now you will have all seen the new release products and collections that were released at CHA. I adore each and everyone of them. But up until today I have not created with the Vintage Artistry Colours – Sky collection. Well I am absolutely in love after using it. I have a real connection with blues and the darker beiges. And as always, these colours seem to bring me back to the beach.

My project today is titled "The ocean stirs the heart.....", this was taken from the sentiment that I used for the project. The sentiment reads : The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings joy to the soul. A truly beautiful sentiment, I think. And this is what I came up with.

My background page was the “Collector” from the Vintage Artistry Colours – Sky collection. This piece has fabulous design in it consisting of framework both in white and in a worn tape look. So it is within the framework that I based my design. I worked from the right corner of the white framework and across diagonally. I added texture using a stencil and crackle paste from right to left. I allowed this to dry and then built my base using some distressed sections of 49andMarket’s Burlap Ribbon. I love to use the burlap in such a way that it replicates the waves in the water and gives my layout movement. Over the burlap I added in some acrylics to keep with the colours of my background. I have used the orange pieces from the collage packs. Over these pieces I stamped using the ruler images from the Wander Stamp Set. I then tore the papers into sections and added them in layers to the burlap pieces. I have also coloured these pieces with the acrylic paints as mentioned with the burlap.

To help with the embellishment of my page I added in some paper moulds and some Dusty Attic Chipboards. These pieces were all dressed with gessoes and coloured with acrylic paints. I have cut some of these into pieces and added to the clusters of my layout.

I added in more colour to my project using some gorgeous new and older florals from 49andMarket. The first are the gorgeous new Sugar Posies in the chalk blue. Oh I love love this colour. I have also combined some blue from the Vintage Shades of Potpourri. I have lastly added in shells from a beach find and some art stones using gel medium to adhere.

So that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed my shabby beach themed share today. Remember to stay tuned tomorrow for more Design Team gorgeousness.
Take care and until next time happy crafting.
