"Forever Friend" - The Scrapbook Store Design Team Creation BFS - Courtship Lane

Welcome back again. It's the last day of the month and I am just in time to share my very last creation for The Scrapbook Store using Blue Fern Studios Courtship Lane collection. I have so much enjoyed creating this month with this most gorgeous collection.
For my last post using this I decided to use an adorable photo of my beautiful boy "Rafael". This was taken 3 years ago now! He is my constant companion, my shadow, my buddy, and I just could not imagine life without him. So with this in mind I titled my layout

"Forever Friend"

I hope you enjoy.....

Before I even started with the design of this layout I worked with the Blue Fern Turkish Bits chipboards. I recently made a purchase of Finnabair's new release Rust Paste Set and was quite eager to used them. I made a mix of the Brown Rust paste along with a little of Finnibair's art stones and dressed  all of the chipboard pieces in this. Once the brown rust was dried I randomly brushed over Some of the Gold Rust in sections and dried it off. This once dried was a very matt colour so I decided to wipe a little Glitter Glam Espresso Bean  over the top. This made it simply shine and sparkle. I also added a little Dirty Martini Glitter Glam to highlight some of the more textured areas to make it pop some more.

My background page was treated with some Clear Gesso firstly and then I watered down a little of the Glitter Glam Dirty Martini and sponged sections of my page. I have also done a little stenciling using my all time favourite Dusty Attic Script stencil and some whipped spackle.

I cut my second piece of West Plaza using the reverse to mat my photo. I then adhered all of the Turkish Bits to sit in and around the photo matting.

I cut the larger Blue Fern Chipboard Skeleton Clock in half and gessoed each half. Once dry I gave each half a random paint with the Espresso Bean and Berrylicious Glitter Glam. Once they were dried I then coated it again in Hay Ride also from the Glitter Glam collection. Love them!!

I have added in some Prills and also a little hand dyed cheesecloth.

And another.....

Well that is all from me today. Remember to keep scrolling for a full Materials List.
Until next time happy crafting.

"Our Everyday Life" - Dusty Attic Design Team Project

Hello everyone and big warm welcome to you.
Today I am here to share my Dusty Attic project for May.
Recently whilst looking for a particular photo I came across a file of photos I did not know I had. This photo I have used here today is one of them and so these are extra special not only because I didn't know I had them lol......but because my son is in them and that doesn't always happen.
This layout is titled "Our Everyday Life"

My starting point was a simple piece of 12 x 12 inch chipboard which I have simply dressed in black gesso. I have done some stenciling with my new favourite the Dusty Attic Fan Stencil. I have used some Dusty In Colour Clear Crackle Varnish over the Fan Stencil and heat set. I have also used my other favourite Dusty Stencil, the Creative Script with a little Dusty Texture Paste and Dusty in Colour Fine Silver Acrylic Paint. The remaining background work is splashings of watered down gesso and some Patina Marine Ink.

Moving along to the ever all important chippies......

The Vintage Corner Flourish used for this pack contains four pieces. They have all been embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. Also here you can see the flowers that I have dressed with a little gesso and some random sprinklings of Crush Glass Glitter.

I have tucked in a half piece of a ATC Frame that I had left over sitting on my table. These kind of pieces always come in handy for another project

You can see here in this cluster the Swirly Vines that I have used back to back across the base of the photo. These have been dressed in gesso and inked randomly in Black Soot Distress Ink.

And I have cut a bird from the Birds on the Branch Pack sitting on top of an Art Pebble that I have inked the back of. The little birdie has been inked and then covered with Dusty Clear Crackle Varnish.

"Frolic in the Sun" Design Team creation for The Scrapbook Store

A very warm welcome to you and thank you for visiting me here.
Today I have another share of a layout created for The Scrapbook Store, my third for the month.
I have been so very lucky to have been playing with Blue Fern Studios "Courtship Lane". I have a little step by step tutorial for you to help reproduce this layout which you can find here over at The Scrapbook Store. It is a very simple layout created solely with Blue Fern Studios patterned papers and chipboards also from Blue Fern Studios with a little lace and ribbon to give it some added prettiness.

Now I know that this photo is slightly blurry due to my non photographic skills.....but it is an important photo to me with lots of memories attached so for me it is a must have!

I have kept this layout very simple and flat .....omygoodness ........yes flat!!

It has a little lace, seam binding and cheesecloth which I think all add to the shabbiness of the layout.

All my chipboards except the title were simply dressed in gesso, distress inks and Star Dust Stickles.

I do hope you have enjoyed your visit here. Remember if you would like to reproduce this or something similar I have the Step by Step Tutorial HERE.

Thanks again for popping by. I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

"Remember the Moments in Between" - 49 and Market Design Team Creation

A very big welcome to you today.
I am so so so very excited to tell you of my news ......
Just days before Christmas gone I was invited to come on board a new paper company...........

49 & Market

and I can now finally spread the news!! Thank you so much to Janene Jaeger Meyerowitz (owner, operator and designer) of this beautiful paper company, for a most wonderful opportunity . Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have to confess that I am still pinching myself.
Pop on over to the blog to see who is there.....an amazing team of talented ladies.
I am extremely excited and feeling very proud to be a part of the release of this beautiful new company. So today I have the very first of my Design Team creations with the first of the paper collections. Vintage Artistry......and I have to say that this is truly who I am. The neutral colours are where I love to be, just so very natural. So with this in mind I went hunting for a special photo. The collection is complete with a stamp set which has the quote "Remember the Moments in Between" which is more than perfect for my chosen photo of my girls from a backyard photo shoot a few months back. They had taken a moment from smiling sweetly to allow me to change lenses on my camera and when I got myself organised this is what I came back to.
A special moment of my daughters having a giggle together. I hope you enjoy !

Vintage Artistry is complete with an Ephemera and Flora and Fauna Sheet which was where I started. This paper is of the highest quality.....you will not be disappointed and so very beautiful to distress. All of the pieces cut for this project were distressed and layered.

I chose my Vintage Artistry's "Specimen" sheet as my background page. My only alteration to this piece was blending Black Soot distress ink around the edges to form a frame.

My flower cluster as you can see here was formed using the Rustic Barn collection from 49 and Market, some Dusty Attic Fern chipboards and a Vine piece. The Dusty Attic chipboard Water Pump sits atop of the flower cluster with cut out butterflies from the Flora and Fauna Sheet.

Some more close-ups for you.....

My last close-up shows the layering of the ephemera cut - outs and the Dusty Attic Baroque Circle frame.

Thanks so much for passing by today.

Until next time happy crafting.
